Thanks for commenting, and I wish you the best of luck with weaning your son. My tips- I cut out one feeding every week or so until I was down to just one morning feeding. Then I would only nurse half the usual time and give my daughter half a bottle. Finally one morning I did only a bottle and she did pretty well.
You may have to enlist the hubby to do the first few days of bottle only, since the baby knows if it's mommy feeding him and will probably want the "real thing."
As for the engorgement, it does suck completely. I stuck ice packs in my sports bra, popped some ibuprofen and avoided hot showers. The warmth gets the milk flowing, so we want the opposite sensation.
